Once God said to me: “use your eyeshadow”, and I knew instantly the instruction was not just about makeup.
It came at a time I was asking God for new experiences & new results, but God was highlighting the people & things already in my life, and asking what had I done to cultivate those relationships and how had I used the things in my life, because within them were the results I needed.
“So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”” II Kings 4:2-4 NKJV
My blessing was not outside me. It was within me.
My blessing was not in some far away place that needed God to bring it to me. It was around me.
I was in the midst of abundance, but figuratively I was starving.
And because the way you do one thing, is the way you do everything; I had books, other items of makeup, skincare, etc…that I had bought and was not using – hence God’s instruction.
If you have not maximised what God gave you, do that first, before asking for something new.
If you are still underestimating your gift, esteem it highly enough to develop & use it first, before asking why you don’t have the gifts & results others have.
If you have not obeyed God and poured out the oil in your house to the point where you have no jars left to pour into, do not ask for fresh oil. You will waste it just like you wasted the one currently in your house.
Your blessing is in that which is already in your hand.
The multi million dollar business you keep asking God for is in the ‘little’ idea that popped in your mind, which you dismissed.
The global impact you want to make is in the connections you already have but have not followed up on.
What you have is not ordinary.
What you carry is not small.
Your obedience is the bridge that will take you from here to there.
Have you shown God your faith by starting to pour out your oil, so He can multiply it, till it fills multiple jars?
Or are you waiting for multiple jars full of oil to be delivered to you?
Just like God said to me, I say to you: “use your eyeshadow”. 😉
