Let go & let God

Often, we are too smart for our own good
Trying to figure it out all by ourselves, thinking we are making progress
When the end thereof is zilch.

One of the greatest revelations you’ll ever receive is – GOD IS SMARTER THAN YOU.
On the cross, Jesus cried – “Father, why have You forsaken me?”
His Father had forgotten all about him – Satan thought
“Party time demons!” he must have announced,
“That braggadocian saviour was all talk and no more; neither He nor His Father could even walk the walk, hiss!”
There was revelry in hell that day; apparently, Satan had Jesus cornered.

BUT…

Just when the party was in full swing, Jesus SUDDENLY defeated Satan
Not only did He utterly and openly strip Satan of his power, He recovered all that Satan stole in Eden
Yet, just a little while earlier it appeared like Satan had the upper hand
Little did he know that the death of this saviour would raise sons & daughters to the Father
Satan fell for Calvary hook, line & sinker.
Go figure, this God na wa o!

God had shown Joseph his special destiny
Yet he was sold to slavery and shipped off to a foreign land~ a migrant slave
Then wrongly accused of rape by his master’s wife~ lands him in jail
Pretty special uh? (Not!)
In jail, he predicts the release and future of 2 prisoners thinking they’ll put in a good word for him
Yet, he is forgotten. No good word. No release. Just more time to rot in jail.

BUT…

Just when the night was the darkest and it appeared like God had forgotten Joseph’s name and address
Pharaoh had a dream
Joseph was remembered and called upon to decipher Pharaoh’s dreams
He went from prisoner to Prime Minister SUDDENLY
A migrant slave turned ex-con became Prime Minister in Egypt ~ what a headline!
Hey! This God has swagger and He loves to show off.

God has an impressive record – He can never be outsmarted
Imagine if Jesus had given up when it appeared like Satan had won
Redemption might have been non-existent and reconciliation to God a figment of our imagination
Our destinies in God, probably lost.

Imagine if Joseph had tried to escape from jail before his time
He would have been an ordinary free man with nothing special to his name but a painful past
The famine would have ravaged the land, lives lost and God’s master plan for Israel altered.

Many times, we are playing checkers when God is playing 3 dimensional chess
He sees the end from the beginning and sees ALL sides to the coin of your life
So rather than run ahead of Him and do stuff that could potentially mess up destinies
Keep in step with Him ‘cos He always has something glorious up His sleeves
You just roll and trust Him, He causes the dice to land
Your time is in His hands and He makes everything beautiful in its time.

So today, let go & let God. He will perfect all that concerns you.
