The word of God is so complete and will light up our paths if we put it to work. It is living, active and effective, so much so that we can stake our lives on it.
To the one who thinks spirituality is only serious & no fun, it says even God laughs:
But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. (Psalms 2:4 NLT, Proverbs 17:22 NLT)
To the one who is sick, it says:
He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.
But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed!
(Psalms 107:20 NLT, Isaiah 53:5 TLB )
To the one whose head is bowed in shame, it says:
But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. (Psalm 3:3 AMPC)
To the one who is bitter, it says:
Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. (Hebrews 12:15 NLT)
To the one who feels their lives have been wasted, they’ve lost it all and blew up their lives, it says:
I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust ate, the young locust, the destroying locust, and the devouring locust—My great army that I sent against you. You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied. You will praise the name of Yahweh your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. My people will never again be put to shame. You will know that I am present in Israel and that I am Yahweh your God, and there is no other. My people will never again be put to shame. (Joel 2:25-27 HCSB)
To the one who trusts in their own ability, it says:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
If the Lord does not build a house, then those who build it work in vain. If the Lord does not guard a city, then the watchman stands guard in vain. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NET, Psalms 127:1 NET)
To the one tempted to give up their integrity and good character because others seem to get away with sin, it says:
My child, if sinners try to entice you, do not consent! If they say, “Come with us! We will lie in wait to shed blood; we will ambush an innocent person capriciously. We will swallow them alive like Sheol, those full of vigor like those going down to the Pit. We will seize all kinds of precious wealth; we will fill our houses with plunder. Join with us! We will all share equally in what we steal.”
My child, do not go down their way, withhold yourself from their path; (Proverbs 1:10 – 15 NET)
The word of God is so precious and relevant to our lives today. Isn’t it time you made studying it, meditating on it and living by it a part of your daily routine? Trust me, it’ll change your life.
